After his military service, Byron spent more than 30 years in the hospitality industry — over 15 of them in management. He didn’t study working families from a distance; he clocked in beside them. That experience shapes everything about how he approaches the economy: policy should make it easier, not harder, for the people who do the work to build a secure life.
